The annual MACAC Day on the Hill took place on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. All MACAC members are invited to attend, but we ask that members register online for this free event by Monday, February 4, 2013. Whether this is your first time at the Minnesota State Capitol or you are a repeat visitor and advocate, we sincerely hope you will be able to join us for this important day.
Registration
Check back in 2014 for info on next years Day on the Hill.
Additional Info
All registered members will receive an itinerary for the day. Typically, the day starts out around 8 a.m. (breakfast is provided) at the Kelly Inn, adjacent to the Capitol and State Office Building in St. Paul. The first part of the day is dedicated to educating attendees about MACACs legislative priorities for the year, especially as they pertain to college access and affordability. We will also attempt to cover any pertinent legislation, but you don’t need to be a legislative expert to advocate for students and colleagues. Advocacy is best done through sharing your professional experiences and stories about your students. If you don’t share your story, who will? This is really an opportunity to lend our support to our colleagues and students, by letting our voices be heard at the Capitol. Our day continues with small group visits to legislators, and it typically concludes around 3:30 p.m. back at the Kelly Inn.
The Government Relations Committee will begin scheduling appointments at the Minnesota State Capitol on your behalf, so all you need to do is register before February 4 and then attend the Day on the Hill on February 27!
We look forward to spending a Day on the Hill with you!
Best wishes,
Your friendly MACAC Government Relations Committee
