MACAC's Land Acknowledgement Learn More

ARC sought multiple rounds of feedback on the Land Acknowledgement statement, both from the MACAC board and from Minnesota tribal advisors, and presented a finalized Land Acknowledgement statement to the MACAC Board in April of 2026. The Land Acknowledgement was approved and formally adopted.

Professional Development Updates

Across 2025-2026, ARC presented on relevant topics at the Admission Counselor Institute, MACAC’s Fall Forum in November, and the MIDWest Conference in Madison, Wisconsin, in May. In sum, our programming engaged with around 120 participants, creating dialog and sharing best practices for empowering BIPOC students in primarily white post-secondary institutions.

Other Work

The committee also helped make progress on efforts from the Strategic Plan, including meeting with all nine committees to better understand the work they do and the way their committee is structured. This information was brought back to the Executive Board to help shape decisions for the next year and beyond. This work let us help try and identify plans for a seamless transition among board members and to make sure new board members have the resources and know how needed when they take office.
